I sat on the bench with Pete’s name on it. Someone left a bunch of flowers there. I was overwhelmed with tears. I have never met Peter, (I’m visiting Winchester from Canada ) but I felt so moved that I looked him up and found this site. He must have been an amazing man to be so missed and loved.
I didn't know this man but came to know about him through his bench, which I often sit on. He was obviously a good man and very much loved and missed. A small contribution with the hope that sometime soon a cure will be found.
Pete used to throw our first child Joe high into the air when Joe was small- It must have made an impression because Joe is now 34 and still remembers!... Pete left an impression on everyone!
Lots of love Maureen Diamond

We are so very sad to hear of Pete's passing all too soon. He was such a lovely man and we have fond memories going back to when we first met Pete and Michelle at Rotaract. We even shared the same wedding day and year! I enjoyed helping Pete to coach his team at Wadac and he will be greatly missed by all those who came into contact with him. The guitar picture shows his character well. We hope that you all take some comfort from how much he was loved by all those around him. We would very much like to attend the celebration of his life if at all possible.
Pete, you were an inspiration as a running coach to my son Harry and i learned so much from you as a runner myself. Thank you for all the years you coached and the time you gave us and many others. God Bless you Pete, you will be missed. With love from Angie Chris and Harry. xx
